スイツキミジンコ（Porcellidiidae）図譜

海岸の海藻、打ち上げられた海藻には1 mmも満たない小さな生き物がくっついていることがある。大抵は、スイツキミジンコ科（Porcellidiidae）のカイアシ類である。葉の上に生息することから、葉上性（epiphytic）と呼ばれる。餌として、住処として海藻を利用している。形態は、卵形あるいは楕円形の体型を持ち、扁平である。体色は種によって決まっていて、鮮やかな色をしている。スイツキミジンコの代表3種をFig. 1に載せた。大顎palp、第1胸脚などには太く大きい剛毛をもり、その表面には多数の毛が生えている。これを使って基底に強く吸着し、波浪を受けても離脱しない。種によっては、ヤドカリなどの甲殻類に寄生するが、葉上性の種が大部分を占めている。

本邦に出現するスイツキミジンコ科の種が網羅されてきたのは1996年以降である。生息分布が判明していない種がほとんどで、発展途上の分類群と言えるだろう。シノニム（異名同種）により無効名になった種が多少いる。本邦が原記載となる種では、Ke. aiiroa、P. aoifuchidorumの2種である。

生息の場としている海藻種の表面を見れば、大抵は、スイツキミジンコがついている。しかしながら、スイツキミジンコ科の知見は乏しく、生息域も分かっていない。そこで、筆者は、本邦に出現するスイツキミジンコ科の分類を整理し、種ごとのイラスト、形態的特徴、体色、生息場所などの情報をまとめた。種の同定を可能とした図譜を以下に掲載する。スイツキミジンコ科の同定等に役立てれば幸いである。短い期間の中で作成したため、記載情報の正確さは欠いている。その点、予め了承を願いたい。正確さを求める場合、図譜の文献リストを活用してほしい。
